Jo Eager is an award-winning international broadcast and print journalist, reporter, and writer. Her voice aired around the world—from former East Germany to Kauai, Hawaii, and several places in between—in English and German. She has broadcast from studios, a Cessna, and a helicopter.
Several of her stories appear in Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and she’s had hundreds of articles published in numerous magazines, newspapers, and online. USA Today, Just Labs, California Game and Fish, San Diego Union-Tribune, San Francisco Examiner, Girlfriends, Sacramento Bee, Well & Healthy Woman, Kauai Times, Curves, among many others.
A student of universal laws, nutrition, and fitness, and a passion for well-being, Jo shares lessons learned through challenges in her life and her children’s—a life-threatening rattlesnake bite, helicopter crash, autoimmune disorder, and gender identity.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, she served at the American Forces Network, Berlin, which at that time was 101 miles behind the Iron Curtain and surrounded by the Berlin Wall. She later worked in the German language at Radio in the American Sector, formed after WWII to broadcast from the west into the east during the Cold War. Jo assisted USA Today and several U.S. radio stations with coverage of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Based in San Diego, Jo freelances as a writer, voice actor, fitness instructor, and commercial and background actor. Her stories appear in several Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and she’s had hundreds of articles published in numerous magazines, newspapers, and online.
